After being charged for every seat in a cooperative (shared) taxi (6 soles), the driver continued to solicit passengers until I notified him that I was not an idiot and he should take us onward to our connection. We headed down a gravel road, past the utter desolation that still lingered from the cataclysmic earthquake of 2007
