Jump to the full entry & travel map Bangkok, Thailand Okay this internet is really slow, now I’ve run out of time to actually do some writing. Anyway, so here just a couple of pics of some of the shenanigans I’ve got up to: Flying business class, eating crunchy snacks, having a foot massage (it was excruciating as well a nice, hmm?), having a Thai massage (more excruciation), interesting conversations with French truck drivers, German Buddhist ex-psychologists and Englishmen cycling to and from South East Asia. Off to an island or 2 tomorrow or the day after, we’ll see

Jump to the full entry & travel map Kuala Lumpur, Wilayah Persekutuan, Malaysia Afternoon all – we’re in Kuala Lumpur or KL as it is known. Today’s title refers to a little Malaysian figure of speech where they add ‘Lah’ to the end of certain words for emphasis. Have a drink-lah, DVD-lah?

Jump to the full entry & travel map Sydney, New South Wales, Australia I got up and the weather was good so decided not to go to the Blue mountains but to got to the beach, Renee had texted me to see hwat iwas upto and we decided to go to Coogee beach. I met her outside Woolies and we walked down to Hyde park and caught the bus down to Coogee, when we got there we puty our things down and i left her sunbathing and went for a look around. An hour or so later i returned and laid down sunabathing for a few hours, it was quite windy so the sand was a bit annoying but then you are on a beach.

Jump to the full entry & travel map Queenstown, South Island, New Zealand Spent yesterday at Wanaka walking around the town shops, siting by the lake and also the annual craft market, Johnny bought some gifts for his family Though the heat was too much for Johnny so we sat in the shade for a while The afternoon we were waiting for the bus 30mins late due to running after the crimbo break In NZ everything is shut christmas day, like the UK but opposite of UK most places in the most toursty places will open on boxing day crimbo is not taken as seriously as the UK arrived at Queenstown at 6ish ;later than planned, headed for the campsite Johnny had found before when he came problem we found was, the prices shoot up over this period, and with New year coming the prices were a lot more than we had paid stil it was a very modern campsite which made you not feel so bad Today we first walked for 2hrs up hill to the where the chairlift/gondola goes up to get fantastic views of Queenstown tiring, but a pleasant walk the views were so worth it!! but also we got to go on a luge!! which is self controlled go kart, it was awesome!! goes as fast as you like, johnny kept cutting up the young kids tut tut we then had lunch and walked around the park, it was a pretty park right on the lake, Queenstown is surrounded by the Alpes, (their own version, not europes) beautiful and gorgeous surrounding, and one of the reasons why many tourists travel down the south island the views are jst immense! After a walk we went to the oldest house which was built in the 1860;s not as old as UK buildings, but you have ot let the Kiwis call it history for them as its such a young country then headed into town and organised our trip for the Milford sound tomorow also i did some job hunting hot day so in a pub for a drink

Jump to the full entry & travel map Pokhara, Nepal With the pass out of the way the final part of the trek felt like a breeze. The calf and thigh muscles were looking buff, the weight was dropping off the pair of us and walking for 6 or 8 hours a day was just another day at the office! With each day we desended further and further down into the valley and things got easier as the breathing became less laboured and the temperatures rose.

Jump to the full entry & travel map Delhi, Delhi, India Here’s a lowdown on what exactly is consumer sentiment and how does it work in the realty sector BS Manu Rao Recession, stock market crash, job uncertainty the economic climate almost turned ‘consumer sentiment’ into a household term. Jump to the full entry & travel map Delhi, Delhi, India It makes sense not to be carried away by the appeal of a sample flat alone. Read on Sanjeev Sinha Mohit Verma, a Delhi-based IT executive, was very excited after seeing a sample flat of an apartment under construction in Kaushambi, Ghaziabad, a few years ago. After all, the flat had everything he was looking for – nice interiors, marble flooring, modular kitchen, and what not.

Jump to the full entry & travel map Kathmandu, Nepal Well with 17 days of trekking to complete I won’t bore you all with a day by day step by step account of the trek (unless you request it!), but will try and give you an idea of what its like to cover over 200 km’s in the Himalayas by foot – the highs and lows and a taste of some of the sights we saw along the way. Teahouses. Our home for 17 nights The word teahouse seems to be used to describe anything from a wooden shed to a more solid looking stone or concrete building.

Jump to the full entry & travel map Palampur, Himachal Pradesh, India We have finally reached Palampur!! The bus here was quite an adventure. Firstly, it was a public bus so it was packed full of locals as well as us. It took us about half an hour to get out of the bus terminal (which was HUGE) because of the sheer number of buses parked higgledy piggeldy everywhere

Jump to the full entry & travel map Medan, Sumatra, Indonesia Most story’s tell tales of rags to riches, this one seems to be the opposite. 5am Sunday morning we left the opulence of our lifestyle in Jakarta and boarded a plane to Medan. Jump to the full entry & travel map Varkala, Kerala, India The journey to Varkala was made up of a 4 hour bus ride and a 2.5 hour train journey. After about 20 minutes on the bus, half of the passengers were hanging out of the window to throw up due to the boneshaking qualities of the ride. After stopping for breakfast and taking a walk for fresh air, the road seemed to improve and we made it to the train station without any casualties in our group

Jump to the full entry & travel map Bayonne, France After Bordeaux we continued down the West Coast. Bayonne was really pretty. There were heaps of old buildings and we even saw a medieval festival – complete with minstrals and suits of armour! We hit Biarritz but couldn’t find anywhere to camp (it’s massively popular in summer), so we drove through to a place called Bidat (are you seeing a pattern here?!) It was actually Bastille Day, so we walked to the main square and watched their celebrations.

Jump to the full entry & travel map Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India A very early start to the day, a short jeep ride to the bus station and then the chaos commenced!! Our bags went on the bus, we got on the bus – and then the musical chairs started!! In the end Kev and I ended up perched almost on the drivers lap, surrounded by peoples bags and almost ontop of the gear stick as it appeared a bit of over enthusiastic booking and issuing of tickets had meant there were twice as many people on the bus as seats. We were promised that in 20 minutes we would be transferring to another bus – turned out to be more like 40 mins, but eventually we had a seat on our 2nd bus of the day and we were off – headed for the border and hopefully if things run smoothly to Varansi. We decided to create our own on bus entertainment and have invented the “How many over turned vehicles are we going to see” game

Jump to the full entry & travel map Ouahigouya, Burkina Faso There is something very strange about celebrating New Years in a foreign country and even stranger about celebrating it in no country.
