Jump to the full entry & travel map Hong Kong, China After months of anticipation, I’ve finally been able to leave the country! It’s taken much longer than I originally hoped, but I finally left. The night before I left I didn’t sleep at all, hoping that I would be able to sleep on the plane and somehow offset the jet lag

In my own naive little way, I expected a place with Internet, cable TV and all the other simple necessities without which an ex-pat can’t possibly survive.

no concept of time — Bangkok, Thailand

Jump to the full entry & travel map Bangkok, TH.40, Thailand We woke up pretty early for the island style of life we had become custom to and began the journey on the baht bus along what they call roads and we would describe as a death trap. But risking a slipped disc for 15 Min’s with the mid morning sun already at around 25 degrees is all part of the experience! We arrived at the port and waited amid the diesel fumes of the numerous boats in the port loading and unloading the islands supplies of water, fuel and all the other essentials.

Jump to the full entry & travel map Bangkok, Thailand After a fitful sleep (I think it’s my body clock, or the bed, or the air conditioners and generators that have you waking up with a headache) I up about 5am to watch the light slowly fill the sky over the balcony. Bangkok is strange in the way that due to the smog, it will always appear overcast, and the sunlight seems to travel different to a standard romantic sunrise.

I had a bunch of blog-able topics tumbling about in my head over the last few days, but I haven’t been able to steal the moments it would take  to sketch them out. I’ve found that I really shouldn’t attempt to write when I don’t have a clear objective or a spark of driving inspiration, yet here I am, trying to squeeze a modicum of interest out of the so recently potential-filled portion of my now-exhausted brain. No telling what may result.

It is funny how many problems can become a concern of a lot of people just in the name of looking good – one of those is the presence of dark circles under the eyes. Although this is not a cause of concern for some people but those who are suffering from grave cases can find this as something extremely annoying.

I haven’t written about anything not black for a while, but this dress really threw me for a loop-di-doop. If there’s anything I like as much as leather pants that will last forever no matter what you spill on them, it’s weird, arty dresses that kind of look like paper bags
