A Leap of Faith!: Abseiling Table Mountain — Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa

Jump to the full entry & travel map Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa Standing at the edge on top of one majestic flat-topped mountain, at 1086m above sea level, with my back leaning against the clouds that overcast the steep cliff overlooking the South Atlantic, strapped up with my legs spread further apart, and ready to make the first jump of many others that stand between my feet and the safe grounds 112m below, was not something which I ever saw myself doing! “Then, why?” people keep wondering in curiosity about what it is that allures me to have an attempt on such extreme activities, which typically involve a higher risk odds. And the only answer I can think of is “Potentials!”. When you continuously push yourself beyond your boundaries, you will always find yourself in those decisive moments.

The Motivation Behind Facial Cosmetic Surgery

When many people hear the words plastic surgery being used in a sentence, they think of A-list celebrities who have abused this practice to the point of being unrecognizable. The assumption is that the wealthy and famous, who are shallow and surface-orientated, are the only people who go under the knife and while it maybe be true that some of them do it for vanity, the fact of the matter is that this is a wrong assumption that is plaguing a legitimate medical industry.

The Twilight of the Gods — Siem Reap, Cambodia

Jump to the full entry & travel map Siem Reap, Cambodia While I was traveling to Siem Reap, the gateway to Angkor Wat, I was thinking of John Keats’ “Ode on a Grecian Urn”, a poem that perfectly describes the endlessness of arts. Indeed, I imagine, when one looks at the carving of those beautiful dancing girls on the temples’ walls and pillars, what else would come to his mind but these Keats’ verses: Heard melodies are sweet, but those unheard/ Are sweeter; therefore, ye soft pipes, play on;/Not to the sensual ear, but, more endeared,/Pipe to the spirit ditties of no tone But now, after I went thru Cambodia, I think of Wagner’s opera, Twilight of the Gods (Gotterdammerung) when my mind drifts to the giant faces of gods in the wats. Just like in the opera, they cannot protect themselves from being destroyed, let alone saving others; they only smiled their forever smiles when so much killing and horrors happened right in front of them (Angkor Wat was one of the area where the Khmer Rouge gave up last).

The eighth wonder of the world — Angkor Wat, Cambodia

Jump to the full entry & travel map Angkor Wat, Cambodia I woke naturally at 7 and for the first time in 5 days had a shower with hot water. Wait! Not just a shower with hot water; a HOT POWER SHOWER! I stayed in for half an hour, it was great! I had the complimentary breakfast (noodle soup of course) and was collected at 8 by a driver for my 10 hour tour of the World Heritage Site ‘Angkor Wat’. We picked up a middle aged Aussie (who turned out to be a geography teacher) who lived 200 miles south of Sydney, a lost looking Italian woman from Rome (who had 2 cameras and a laptop with her) and two twenty something Vietnamese-Australian sisters from Brisbane.

Free People Fingerless Gloves

Is it almost the end of October already?  How can it be that Fall is slipping away so quickly?  I must wear my Fall clothes and accessories before it gets too cold!  My favorite accessory, fingerless gloves, are one of those items that it’s just harder to wear once the weather gets bitterly cold.  Yes, it’s nice to have a little finger dexterity, but the tips of your fingers might just fall off if you try to wear these when it’s 10 degrees.  (We’ll discuss layering gloves in a few months…) So my point today is that in order to rock this style, you need to get your fingerless gloves now!  They are so adorable and have a little glamour, a little rocker, and a little innocence in them.  Free People has some unique, stylish, and affordable options. Image: Free People Free People Diamond Cuff Glove $28 These rhinestone-adorned gloves are perfect to pair with denim or a glam rocker look.

Welcome To The Jungle — Poring Springs, Malaysia

Jump to the full entry & travel map Poring Springs, Malaysia After writing last, we decided to stay in Taman Negara national park to explore the jungle a little bit more to Gua Telinga – some caves with a lot of bats in. When we woke up in the morning we went to cross the river into the jungle to find that all the restaurants and boat stations had floated away downstream from the storm the night before. The storm meant it had also rained a lot the night before, which in the jungle unfortunately means leeches, oh no! As Nikki and I walked to the caves, we had to stop every few minutes to beat the leeches off our shoes with a stick (if you try to pick them up they just suck on to your fingers)

Jardin des Plantes and the Single Toilet — Paris, Ile-de-France, France

Jump to the full entry & travel map Paris, Ile-de-France, France We exited the Metro at the Jussieu stop and passed up the public WC as we didn’t have to go “that bad.” By the time we got to the Jardin des Plantes, though, we both had to go “pretty bad.” We followed the “toilet” signs and arrived at a single self-cleaning toilet. “Oh, there have to be more” we assured ourselves. Since we only had to go “pretty bad” at that point, and were at the same time thirsty, we walked back to the snack stand at the entrance to the gardens for a beer (having scoped that out upon arrival)

Fiji Inseln — Fiji, Fiji

Jump to the full entry & travel map Fiji, Fiji unser letzter Stopp – die Fiji Inseln!!!

In Order to Get Access to Links of London — Nanjing, Jiangsu, China

Jump to the full entry & travel map Nanjing, Jiangsu, China In order to examine the ways in which postrealism manages to reconcile the postmodern filter of language, links of london sale on the one hand, and the insistence on a grounding in historical reality, on the other hand, I shall concentrate on Marina Warner’s Indigo (1992), which re-writes traditional history as well as Shakespeare’s The Tempest (1612), Jeanette Winterson’s Boating for Beginners (1985), which re-writes the Bible, and Jean Rhys Links of London Earrings ‘ Wide Sargasso Sea (1966), which re-writes Charlotte Bront毛’s Jane Eyre (1847). All three novels represent postrealism’s double rooting, both in real time and space and in a previous text, as well as its double realistic reference to an “empirical past” and to an “empirical present.” They all present true-tolife characters situated in history and evolving in a more or less plausible plot, Small Sweetie Golden Bracelet yet the traditional notions of subject and of time and space are undermined by common narrative techniques.

It was really nice- We shared with Nicola and Kirsty, in a tiny cabin room with bunkbeds- and a tv!!
